Today I got excited about an upcoming concert. Whenever the National comes on the radio, I always think of how amazing their live show must be. I remember when Pitchfork reviewed Clap Your Hands Say Yeah/The National double bill, back when they were tripping on the influence they had launching CYHSY into indie cosmos. I expected another drooling reviewer, but this guy gave CYHSY a chilly review, and, noting that half of the indie kids left after the band’s performance, said that they missed a far better show. John in the Morning also sang praises to the National show, saying they were one of the best live bands around. I really think they can come close to Interpol. The concert is October 2nd at the Showbox, for $15. Tell me if you want me to buy you a ticket at the box office.
